Waterford Strength & Conditioning Program Added for 2016-17

The Athletics Department is thrilled to announce the introduction of a new Strength and Conditioning program available to all Waterford Students.  Starting this Wednesday September 21 we are running early morning training sessions every Monday, Wednesday & Friday from 6:30am to 7:30am. The program will be headed up by Spenser Herzog who has been hired to oversee this effort.  These workouts will look to improve an athletes strength, muscular development, speed, power, as well as making the athletes less susceptible to injury. We want to improve our athletes physical abilities as well as their mental toughness and confidence in ways that will not only translate to their specific athletic endeavors but in life, well after sports are over.

This training is an important next step for the athletic program as a whole and we are encouraging all interested athletes no matter the sport to consider adding this to their training regimen. We piloted this as an after school program in the past with some success but the conflicts with regular team practice and game schedules meant that athletes would have to stop their strength training during the teams season. The early morning time slot will allow students to continue their progress even in season.  If this addition proves as success fun as we expect it will be we will of course look at additional opportunities to and more sessions so that we can hit as many athletes as possible.

The program will cost $150 for the term and that will include aproximately 30 sessions over the 10 week period or coat of $ 5 per session. This cost commitment will off set the cost of running the program and ask athletes and their families to have a little “skin in the game so to speak”.   The first two sessions are free for anyone to join us and try it out. After that we will ask that you sign up for the program via google document and we will bill your student account you have signed on.  If you have questions about the program in general or the cost please contact me. I am so excited about this program and would love to go over any questions that you have in detail.

I think that most have access to my contact information but I have included it below as well.
